Me Holding Striped Bass

Welcome to my site! My name is Erik Meijer and I am a junior at the University of Connecticut.
My major is currently business management and I have a 3.5 GPA, and I am a New England Scholar.
This site has been created as a requirement of my Business Information Systems class, check out
the link to Opim203C located above. I live in Granby Connecticut and commute to Uconn everyday,
and yes, thats about an hour each way. I graduated from Granby Memorial High School in 2001,
and spent my first 2 years of college commuting to the West Hartford Uconn campus, appropriatly
refered to as "Husky High", because it wasnt much better than high school. I am much happier
taking classes at Storrs because the business building is awsome, I really like the classrooms.
I finally feel as though I am in college. As you will see from this web site I really enjoy such things
as fishing, and going fishing with our boat the "Cat Can Do". You can see pics of this boat in the
photo gallery section of this site. The photo above is me after catching a striped bass in the Connecticut
River in April of 2002. During this time of the year the striped bass migrate up the river from the ocean
to breed, making it possible to catch them in the river. Striped bass can do this because they have the
ability to change there habitat from salt water to fresh water, and then back to salt water when they
return to the ocean. I caught this fish in Windsor Locks! Which is quite far up the river, you can catch
even further north of the Holyoke Damn, but only from like late March to early May. In the summer I
love to go to the beach, I would live there during the summer if I had the money. I go surf fishing alot,
me and my dad go fishing on our boat alot, and I have a Rhode Island beach permit on my truck, which
allows me to take my truck over the sand roads along the Rhode Islad coast line. After Labor Day I can
take my truck on any Rhode Island state beach that I want. Four wheeling over sand is a blast. Well,
with the jibber jabber, make sure to check out the rest of my site! I hope you enjoy it! If you have an
AOL Screen name and want to say hi or chat, my SN is quadcab175. Say hi sometime!
